Well, it's 3 weeks post chemo and I'm starting to feel pretty good.  One thing I notice is my sense of taste and smell is back.  I want to eat everything in sight, it all tastes SO good now!  I've gained 3 pounds so gotta watch it.  My body's needs have totally changed.  While getting chemo I couldn't eat salads or most fruits or veggies without getting sick.  I pretty much was living on almond butter sandwiches, eggs, bananas and yogurt.  Sometimes those would make me sick too.  But I've been able to eat whole apples and some salads so now it's time to cut out all those carbs.  I've gotta re-remember what I was eating when I lost all that weight on Weight Watchers!

Hair report - still none.  I think I check about every 5 minutes though.  I'm trying to figure out a way to just forget about it for a couple of months so I can be surprised.  I had a dream that I woke up one morning with my long, full head of hair again.  Oh was it ever sad when it wasn't true!

Muscle pain - Wow, don't know what's going on there but this is a side effect of Taxol, only one I didn't experience until near the end of treatment.  The muscles in my lower body simply would not flex and I've been feeling very weak.  I did have to stop doing yoga for a couple of months due to the large rash on my body from the chemo since my skin hurt so much if I tried to stretch it.  That probably accounts for some of the weakness, but I was feeling like I had run a marathon...it was that kind of pain, like I'd worked out really, really hard and long.  And there's been a shooting pain down one hip.  But, my rash is much better (now it's just red instead of purple) and I can stretch my skin without too much pain so I've done yoga a few times over the last week.  It really feels good to push my body again!  Plus my muscle pain seems to be improving slowly too.

When I got my Herceptin infusion yesterday the nurses said there is a Taxol shortage now and they have had to switch the people getting it to Taxotere.  Yikes, I had a hard enough time with Taxol so glad I finished before the shortage!

Dr. Gray's assistant told me I will need to go back in for an echocardiogram in October and a mammogram 3-6 months after I'm done with radiation, which starts Aug. 11.  She said not to be surprised if my 1st mammogram results are indeterminate.  Apparently that is common after irradiating tissue.  She also said she would not hurry to get back to work, but if I don't I'd have to go on long term disability which will result in cutting my pay to 60% - no can do!  So I'll probably start working from home later this month.  Yeah, I may get tired from radiation, but there's no way it could be as bad as chemo was!

I have some pictures of my rash and hair that I want to post but no time right now.  Headed to Missoula, MT for another dog agility trial with Steve, Win & Lilli.  Should be lots of fun so wish us luck!
