I'm a clean person. I like clean hair, skin, clothes, nails (especially toenails) and I like to smell good.
Showers are OK but there is nothing like a bath. I LOVE to take baths, even if I don't have time to soak! I love the warm, silky water surrounding me, especially with just a few drops of bath oil in it and some of my fav lavender bath salts. Taking a bath just makes me smile and relax. They're the most fun when I can have the lights in the bathroom off with candles glowing and whatever music I'm in the mood for playing. I like it when my doggies come in and want to lick my wet hand that I offer up to them when I'm lying in the tub. I also like to take baths in winter with water as warm as I can stand it and then fling open the window next to me to let the crisp, cold air into the room while I slip down into the warmth of the water. I have a special white mat that I use just for getting out of the tub. I got it at IKEA (my favorite home store) and when I'm finished drying off, I pick it up and lay it over the edge of the tub so it'll stay clean and bright. I have a jetted tub too, although I don't use the jets all the time. Mostly I just enjoy the quiet stillness of the water and the room and not having to rush about as I normally do.
I think I'll really miss not being able to take baths for a little while after my surgery - in fact I'll probably even miss those more than I'll miss the sliver of tissue the surgeon is going to take out of my breast! Just sayin'......
