Carpe Diem!

Just a lazy Sunday so far but I'm sure the pace will pick up.  Some friends are coming over in a few hours to train dogs.  One of them had not such a good week with one of her friends having terminal cancer and her puppy getting hit by a car, but very luckily not killed.  I hope she comes to run it off.

Last night Kingie, my beautiful Smooth Collie, had this weird thing happen.  I was cutting up potatoes for dinner and he was poking up his long muzzle, hanging as closely as possible hoping for something to fall off for a quick treat.  Suddenly he dropped to the floor on his belly, claws digging in, his head moving back and forth as if the room was spinning.  All I could do was gently stroke his back and wait.  I don't think it was a siezure - there were no convulsions or face twitching or drooling.  After about a minute I got up to get the camera in case I needed to show the vet what happened, and he got up with me.  Then it was all over.  We had a little talk and I told him he couldn't get sick right now.  The breeder thinks its something that just happens but that if he has another one soon I should take him to the vet.  Crap.

So my motto for the day is gotta just keep living in the now, never worrying about what has happened or what might.  Carpe Diem!
